In recent years, the number of motorcycles has skyrocketed in almost all countries and represents more than 50% of the vehicle fleet in several of them.
Motorcycles are gaining popularity due to their relatively low operating cost, increasing congestion in many cities and the lack of efficient public transport. This has a serious impact on the level of road safety. The number of motorcyclists killed is increasing in most Latin American and Caribbean countries and, in several of them, these users represent the majority of traffic victims.
Since 2017, the Foundation set out to work to improve the safety of one of the most vulnerable users of traffic, conducting studies, and training courses for different audiences.
