The Gonchi Rodriguez Cultural Center was formally inaugurated on the occasion of another anniversary of Gonchi's death, which also marks the National Motorsports Day in honor of Gonzalo Rodriguez.

The bill states that "September 11 of each year shall be declared National Motorsports Day". The date was not chosen at random, but evokes the tragic day on which the young driver lost his life during qualifying tests at the Laguna Seca circuit, in the United States, on September 11, 1999.

Within the framework of the Global Road Safety Week, declared by the United Nations, the Fundación Gonzalo Rodríguez (FGR) in coordination with the PAHO/WHO Representation in Uruguay and the support of the International Motor Vehicle Inspection Committee (CITA) and the National Road Safety Unit (UNASEV), organized a meeting to "Rethink Mobility" in order to work towards active and safe mobility, according to the recommendations of the Global Road Safety Plan.

The Transportation Safety Board of Argentina held the third day of the first International Symposium on Multimodal Transportation Safety in Argentina, "Present and Future of Transportation Safety in Argentina and the Region", awarding, among other organizations, the Fundación Gonzalo Rodríguez for its work in road safety.
