Parliament approved National Motorist's Day in honor of Gonchi

The bill states that "September 11 of each year shall be declared National Motorsports Day". The date was not chosen at random, but evokes the tragic day on which the young driver lost his life during qualifying tests at the Laguna Seca circuit, in the United States, on September 11, 1999.

Authorities participated in the "Re-Thinking Mobility" meeting to promote safe mobility

Within the framework of the Global Road Safety Week, declared by the United Nations, the Fundación Gonzalo Rodríguez (FGR) in coordination with the PAHO/WHO Representation in Uruguay and the support of the International Motor Vehicle Inspection Committee (CITA) and the National Road Safety Unit (UNASEV), organized a meeting to "Rethink Mobility" in order to work towards active and safe mobility, according to the recommendations of the Global Road Safety Plan.

International cooperation: actions to improve child road safety

Bases for an integrated management of road safety is the project approved by the Uruguay-Mexico Joint Cooperation Fund in its V call for proposals. The initiative will be managed for two years by the Fundación Gonzalo Rodríguez; the National Road Safety Unit (Unasev) of Uruguay; and the Secretary of Transportation of the State of Jalisco, Mexico. They will work on the implementation of evidence-based policies for child road safety; and on relevant contributions on innovative practices for road safety management.
