The agreement signed establishes a collaboration between both organizations to strengthen the projects of the Fundación Gonzalo Rodríguez, which for the last 17 years has advocated for public policies that promote the care of children and adolescents on the roads, as well as safe and healthy mobility for Uruguayans, working to meet the goals set by the United Nations in the Second Decade of Action for Road Safety, whose purpose is to reduce by 50% the number of deaths and serious injuries in road crashes.
Likewise, this agreement is framed within the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, specifically SDG 17, which promotes partnerships to achieve the global goals. This collaboration reinforces the importance of the articulation between the private sector and civil society organizations, consolidating a platform that promotes positive changes in road safety and social welfare. The synergies generated between the Fundación Gonzalo Rodríguez and MI AUTO Santander are an example of how strategic alliances can boost sustainable development, contributing to the safety and quality of life of the community.
Through this agreement, the Foundation will be able to reach a wider audience, counting on MI AUTO Santander's support to disseminate its initiatives throughout the country.
María José Pessano, Executive Director of the Foundation, said, “This collaboration allows us to continue advancing in our mission to promote safe and healthy mobility, and reinforces the private sector's commitment to road safety issues, key to reducing traffic accidents in Uruguay.”
Thanks to MI AUTO's support, the Foundation's actions in the territory will be strengthened, in addition to working together on communication actions with key messages at different times of the year, to promote specific interventions. Training actions will also be generated for different actors, in order to generate a positive impact on both the company and the community.
During the term of the agreement, both institutions will work together to ensure that road safety initiatives continue to have a positive impact on different road users.
